Here’s a great article from LifeHacker. I’ve used FolderShare and SyncToy with great success in the past. Generally, use FolderShare if you need to sync over the internet or SyncToy if it’s local.

digsby is a new multiprotocol client for im, email, and social networks. it’s amazingly customizable and will synchronize all your personalizations between computers (e.g. home, office, laptop).
it’s currently in beta (you can use the beta code AskTheAdmin) if you want to play with it.
i’ve been using it for about a week now, and I think this is a winner (i was a big fan of Pidgin up til now).
oh, and it’s really cute.

Absolute Uninstaller helps you do a regular uninstall, but then tries to remove any files left behind, including registry entries. It also lets you remove multiple aplpications at once! Pretty darn cool.

ccleaner: one of my favorite apps has gone portable! August 21, 2007

keep in mind, this is a beta release, but CCleaner is now …
Portable
CCleaner can now run from a USB thumbdrive and be installed/run on a computer without a complicated setup process.
If you aren’t familiar, CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system – allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it’s fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware!
Cool disk defragmenter August 1, 2007

Windows only: Freeware application JkDefrag GUI is an advanced hard
drive defrag application that provides a graphical user interface for
the open source JkDefrag command line defrag tool. JkDefrag puts the
standard Windows defragger to shame with scheduled defrags, file
optimization, and options to include/exclude directories. On the fun
end of the spectrum, JkDefrag GUI has an installable screensaver tool
that automatically turns on and visualizes your defrag when your
computer is idle and hasn’t been defragged for a user-defined amount of
time. In all, JkDefrag GUI is the coolest Windows defrag app I’ve ever
seen, and best of all, it’s totally free.

The Google Docs interface has been redesigned and it looks pretty sharp!
The best new feature…
Organize your documents with folders

As your documents grow in number, we wanted to make it easier to manage
and organize them by adding folders. Create a folder by clicking the
“New” button in the upper left hand corner, select “Folder” and add the
name of the folder. Now just drag and drop any document into it or add
one document to multiple folders.
