Here’s a great article from LifeHacker. I’ve used FolderShare and SyncToy with great success in the past. Generally, use FolderShare if you need to sync over the internet or SyncToy if it’s local.

keep in mind, this is a beta release, but CCleaner is now …

Portable
CCleaner can now run from a USB thumbdrive and be installed/run on a computer without a complicated setup process.

If you aren’t familiar, CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system – allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it’s fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware! 🙂

having just spent the better part of a “holiday” weekend getting a client’s pc back up and running, google pack gives you a simple (and still free) way to add useful utilities like virus and spyware protection as well as a pretty cool new screensaver.

you pick and choose what else you want to install… google earth, picasa photo organizer, google desktop, firefox, adobe pdf reader, and more.
